• Student Movement

Students are continuously assessed based on their reading, writing, listening, speaking, and language acquisition.  Because of our scheduling structure, students can move across various levels of classes based on their language proficiency.   For example, if a student arrives at RIA and is placed in a SIFE ESOL class based on their initial assessments, that student can move to a low or medium ESOL class whenever they demonstrate skills appropriate for that higher level class.  Teachers gather data and collaborate on the best placement for that student based on their language acquisition.
