Delphi Drug & Alcohol Council, INC, which is a non-for-profit agenct licensed by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, was placed at School #9 in response to The Safe Schools, Healthy Students Mental Health Grant. The support services provided include individual, family, and group counseling, as well as specialized group counseling and support groups. The overall goal of this school based program is to have students reduce, eliminate, or abstain from experimentation or use of substances. Student participation in the school based program is voluntary adn completely confidential. The counselor works with students who are "at risk" for using chemicals, due to: family drug/alcohol involvement, current or past history of using drugs, and/or other home, school, or interpersonal problems that would influence alcohol and/or drug experimentation.
