Hello 45 Families,
Let me start by expressing how excited I am to continue my journey in a new capacity at School #45! I am confident that my personal background and professional experiences will assist our school in continuing to be a model for student leadership in the community.
I was raised in the Beechwood Neighborhood on the eastside of Rochester. I attended #28 School, Monroe, and East High School before graduating. I earned my bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from the University of Rochester. East High School is where I met my wife and to this day, we live in the city with our daughter. A fun fact and point of pride for me is that I have never lived outside the city limits of Rochester.
My time in Rochester has led to me developing a passion for improving our community. I recognize that we live in a community with struggles, but I also understand that education is the best way to create opportunities for triumph. My goal as the Principal at School #45 is to lead a school that produces students who will later serve as leaders in our community. Through our community school model and intense focus on reading and writing, we can be the change our city strives for.
The success of our school is largely dependent on the relationships we build with families. Teachers have been encouraged to make frequent contact with families and we ask for your support in reaching our mission. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please call the main office and set-up a time to meet or speak with your child’s teacher. Communication between home and school will strengthen the success of our students.
Thank you for allowing me to serve your child,
