Field Trip - Information / Overview

Field trips are an extension of ALL student learning. Therefore, Montessori Academy encourages every grade level teachers to plan two field trips per school year. Children who have built evidence of unsafe behavior may not be able to attend a field trip.

Cost for Students: While there is no cost for transportation, there is sometimes a cost for admission. When this is the case, teachers are to communicate the trip at least 3 weeks ahead of time.

Medical Forms for Field Trips – Every student needs to have an approved medical form filled out and on file for ALL field trips. Not having this will result in students not being able to participate. Contact the school nurse to make sure that this has been taken care of.

Chaperones – Parents and caregivers are welcome to chaperone field trips. The person must be over the age of 21 and the teacher must be aware of participation in advance, as all chaperones must be identified on the field trip paperwork. Please do not show up for a field trip without the proper notice.
