• Montessori Philosophy

The Montessori philosophy is an educational approach that emphasizes child-centered learning, where students are encouraged to explore and learn NYS Standards-based instruction at their own pace and in multi-aged classrooms.

At the Primary and Lower elementary levels (PreK-2), the focus is on fostering independence, creativity, and a love of learning by providing a carefully prepared environment with hands-on activities.

Children are guided to discover their interests, develop critical thinking skills, and build social and emotional awareness, all while receiving individualized attention.

In the Middle and Upper grades (3-6), the focus is the same with the additional expectation of students using Montessori practices to guide them through the increased rigor of instruction they are exposed to as they grow.

Overall, the Montessori approach nurtures curiosity and confidence, helping children grow into self-motivated learners who take pride in their accomplishments.
