English for Speakers of Other Languages

The four areas of focus for ESOL are Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

My name is Ms. Clayton, your friendly ESOL teacher!

    This is me!

I am originally from Rochester, NY and attended RCSD schools. I received my Masters Degree from Fredonia State University of New York in 2012 for Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). At Fredonia I also earned a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2010 and a Bachelor of the Arts in English and Women's Studies in 2007. I love learning! I am a writer, a reader, a musician and a language learner. I have studied French, Spanish and Arabic. This is my fourth year as a teacher in the Rochester City School District. I believe in teaching peace, embracing cultures, and fostering students' curiosity and creativity to develop their skills in English and success in school. I also value family involvement in learning and work to develop connections between home and school.
