Hi my name is Samuel Consagra and I am an ESOL and social studies teacher here at the Rochester International Academy. The opportunity to teach students both history and English, has been a dream come true.
I completed my undergraduate degree in History in 2008 at SUNY Geneseo and my Masters degree in 2010 at the University of Rochester. I have NYS certifications in both Teaching English as a Second Language as well as 7-12 Social Studies. Hopefully sometime in the near future I plan on beginning a Masters degree program in History as well to further my own education and to hopefully provide an even better educational experience for the students in my class.
School year 2015-2016 is my sixth year teaching in the Rochester City School District. I spent my first two years teaching at Thomas Jefferson High School, this is my fourth year here at RIA.
When I am not at work I enjoy reading, staying active, and spending time with my wife Christyna and my daughter Evelyn. I also really enjoy traveling and seeing new places. My goal is to see as many different places as I can.
I look forward to a wonderful year with my class filled with personal and academic growth.
