TERRY RICHARDS joined Franklin Lower School in 2020 following twenty-five years of service as an educator. He has served as a teacher, Assistant Principal and summer school Principal.
Mr. Richards started his career in education in the RCSD. During his tenure, he taught sixth grade at Dr. Charles T. Lunsford #19 School as well as math and science at Charlotte Middle School. He started his administrative career at North Street Elementary School in Geneva, NY as an Assistant Principal.
He returned to the RCSD as an Assistant Principal at Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School and Abelard Reynold #42 School. Mr. Richards is a product of the RCSD. He is a graduate of East High School and has a passion for urban education. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Elementary Education with a specialization in Math and his Master’s in Elementary Education from Brockport State College. He additionally earned his Master’s in Educational Administration from St. John Fisher College.
Mr. Richards views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. He believes partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience at a great school.
Mr. Richards is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and is married to Rhondalynn Richards. His eldest son, Terrance, is also a graduate of Kansas State University and a teaches at UPrep Charter for Young Men. His younger son Terrell is a sophomore at Aquinas Institute. During his free time, Mr. Richards enjoys exercising, coaching football and spending time with his family.
