My name is Michele McCortney, and I have worked at Roberto Clemente School # 8 since September 2002. The majority of my career at School # 8 has been as a School Psychologist, however, beginning in September 2015, I took on the role as the Social-Emotional Learning coach for the building. This position focuses primarily on developing and improving the school's Culture and Climate.
In addition to collaborating with my colleagues to support student social-emotional and behavioral needs and character development, I also provide support to students, families, and community members as one of three Dignity for All Students Act coordinators. This act, commonly called DASA, is designed to support individuals who may be dealing with bullying, harassment, or discrimination at school. If you have questions or concerns about bullying at Roberto Clemente School # 8, or would like more information on how to best support your child, please feel free to contact me.
