The Dr. Walter Cooper Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an active group that is highly invested in the school and their children's academic success. The members are part of the school based planning team, the district wide parent council, and volunteers within the school for many school events, field studies trips, classroom activities and school committees. The PTO has been instrumental in funding several Expeditionary Field Studies for many of the students who would otherwise be unable to attend some of the trips because of their financial situations. This was done by hosting fundraising activities such as carnivals, movie night, kids go shopping, chocolate sales, etc. with great success. The PTO is governed by an executive committee comprised of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and committee chairs.
