Summer Learning Registration Information

  • If you're a high school student who didn’t earn all your credits this year, we have targeted programs designed to help you get back on track:

    • Roc More Academy (Grade 9):
      For current 9th graders who did not earn at least 5 credits this year.
    • Roc Discover (Grades 9–12):
      A comprehensive credit recovery program that includes academic support, Regents prep, and skill-building.
    • Roc On (Seniors):
      For students within 5 credits of graduation. This is your chance to finish strong and earn your diploma.

    Next Steps

    Please submit your interest in attending one of these programs now. Once submitted, we will review the information and assign students based on space availability. Please note that some summer programs or classes may already be full. Families should expect to hear back by Monday or Tuesday of next week with confirmation of whether their student can be accommodated. They will also receive additional information about which site and when to report to for in-person registration.

Roc More Academy (9)

  • Program Description

    Roc More Academy Interns is an innovative 6-week program designed to help five hundred current 9th year students bridge academic gaps while preparing for the workforce. Students may attend either morning or afternoon sessions, providing flexibility to meet their individual needs. This initiative targets current 9th graders who are off track to obtain five credits by the end of the year. Using data from cohort trackers, the program will intentionally identify and address key areas during the school year while providing added support during the summer. This approach aligns with the district’s Goal 1D and the Expanded Learning goals by addressing early warning systems, personalized academic support, and workforce readiness.

Roc City Players (4-12)

  • Program Description

    Roc City Players is a theatre program open to all Rochester City School District students in grades 4-12. Auditions are done for casting purposes only. Any student who wishes to participate will be a part of the production.

Roc Discover (10-11)

  • Program Description

    Roc Discover is a comprehensive program designed to address and cultivate essential competencies and mindsets by grade levels, fostering academic success. Our focus lies on honing skills in all core areas, building background knowledge, and expanding vocabulary, ensuring students are well-prepared for their academic journey. Student engagement and attendance is prioritized by implementing intentional, consistent, program-wide activities that promote enjoyment in learning and a sense of belonging. For students who are off-track to graduate, this program offers opportunities to increase credit accumulation, providing personalized support and guidance tailored to individual needs. Through participation in the program, students have the chance to earn credits, prepare for exams, and develop essential skills crucial for success in high school, college and beyond.
