• The Integrated Arts & Technology High School will:
     
    • Offer a unique environment of academic rigor, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, where students are inspired to become thinkers, innovators, and compassionate agents of social and technological change.

    • Use a state-of –the-art approach to teaching and learning.

    • Bring together an adult community exemplified by: leaders of integrity; a faculty of caring teachers, teaching artists, and technology specialists; engaged, active parents; and members of the extended Rochester community.

    • Partner with local arts organizations to connect with Rochester's vibrant arts community.

    • Support a culture of collaboration, reflection and constant improvement.

    • Create an exciting program focused around interdisciplinary, project-based units of study; called Learning Expeditions, and authentic forms of assessment.

    • Build an ethic of service and citizenship into the core academic curriculum.

    • Students engage in two grade-level learning expeditions per year based on New York State standards. Learning expeditions are journeys into compelling topics used to teach reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies and promote citizenship and character development.

    • Field studies throughout the year to connect to the community.

    • Two Outward-Bound adventures each year promote collaboration and skill building through activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and hiking.

    • Student led assemblies will show case school-wide multicultural learning activities, Arts performances, and classroom productions.

    • The students will learn through the integration of the Arts into their expeditions, field studies, and daily lessons.
