DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS GATHER FOR FIVE DAYS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
2017 Leadership Summit Will Take Place at Roberts Wesleyan College, August 14-18
Rochester, NY—The Rochester City School District will be conducting a week-long Leadership Summit at Roberts Wesleyan College starting on Monday, August 14 and culminating with a “RCSD ROCs the Community” Day of Caring on Friday, August 18.
The Leadership Summit will consist of national speakers, educational seminars, and personal introspection related to being an urban educator in the 21st century. The five days will focus on following the Rochester City School District’s priority areas: EDUCATIONAL EQUITY, RELATIONAL CAPACITY, INNOVATION, ACCOUNTABILITY, and COHERENCE.
Along with Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams, keynote speakers will include Dr. Joy DeGruy, Dr. Susan Goodwin, and Dr. Joyce King among others. Rochester Teacher’s Association President Dr. Adam Urbanski will be the keynote speaker on Thursday, which will concentrate on the issue of ACCOUNTABILITY.
The event is closed to the public, but open to the local media. A complete schedule is attached, but of special interest are the following:
