DETAILS:        
The Wilson X-Cats Robotics Team won the Finger Lakes Regional 2017 for the second time in six years, defeating 49 teams spread over the northeast U.S. Additionally, this acclaimed team is the only team in the world to have twice won the coveted First Robotics Chairman’s Award. This award honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST. Many of the team’s current mentors have served the team for 26 years. This team has been the impetus for so many students, girls and boys, going into STEM careers. 

Mayor Lovely Warren’s Office and RCSD is recognizing the amazing accomplishments of the Wilson X-Cats Robotics Team, which has been a 26-year collaboration with Xerox Corporation. Recently, other companies, such as Lockheed, have also supported the team. Wilson is positioning themselves to carry on their legacy and propel students into the exciting future of technology careers, some even yet to be discovered.
