Adlai E. Stevenson School No. 29
Law firm LeClairRyan and the Monroe County Bar Association’s Lawyers for Learning program will distribute new backpacks and school supplies to students at School No. 29 on Thursday, September 4, at 9:30 a.m. Students will be wearing donated uniform shirts decorated with the Lawyers for Learning/Monroe County Bar Association logo.
The Lawyers for Learning mentorship program was initiated by members of the Monroe County Bar Association in October 1993. Lawyers for Learning has an ongoing relationship with Adlai E. Stevenson School 29. The primary goal of the original School 29 partnership has been to place volunteer attorneys and legal professionals at the school to mentor children and assist in classrooms, but
the program has been expanded to include the annual backpack distribution and grants to teachers for art supplies, learning accessories and books.
