Today was the BEST day! I can't wait to tell you what happened to me today.
 Buckingham Palace
We went to see the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace is a place where the kings and queens used to live. Now, it is used as the Queen's work office and a place to hold special events and meetings. The Palace is HUGE---it has 775 rooms with 78 bathrooms. WOW!

Changing of the Guards
The Queen is so important that guards protect her and Buckingham Palace 24 hours a day. The Changing of the Guards is when one set of guards replaces another set of guards. It is alot like a parade-there are guards wearing special uniforms, horses and even a band! It was really cool to watch.
Here is a picture of Mrs. Beers, Will, and me near the tall gates of Buckingham Palace.

After the Changing of the Guards ceremony, I was walking around the Palace grounds with Mrs. Beers and her family. That's when this very special thing happened--I met two new friends!!

Chris meets some friends
Maurice the Moose is from Toronto, Canada and Echo the owl is from the New York City area. They have friends in classrooms just like I have you for friends at School #9. It made me so happy to make new friends when I was so far away from home!
This was such a special day!
See you tomorrow, friends.
