Support for Victims of Hurricane Dorian
Please join the Board of Education and Superintendent Terry Dade in supporting the families of the Bahamas.
Hurricane Dorian devastated the Grand Bahama and Abaco Island communities as the strongest hurricane to hit the Bahamas on record. Sadly, more than 40 people lost their lives, with the death toll continuing to rise, and 70,000 have been made homeless.
In times of disaster, many caregivers are forced to choose between food, diapers, hygiene products, and other basic necessities. The Rochester City School District is providing support to our family in the Bahamas by donating diapers and biodegradable baby wipes to the survivors of Hurricane Dorian.
If you would like to help, a donation box will be placed in the lobby of Central Office, where the District will be collecting packages of diapers and biodegradable baby wipes. Collections will be accepted from September 10 – 20, 2019. Donations from RCSD staff and the entire community are welcomed and can be dropped off at 131 W. Broad Street.
