Director of Community Schools Recipient of Golden Apple Award
(January 3, 2023) The Rochester City School District congratulates Ms. Lieselle Taylor, as the recipient of a News 8 Golden Apple Award. Ms. Taylor is the District’s Director of Community Schools, and she was nominated for this award by representatives from Advantage Federal Credit Union.
Ms. Taylor was recognized for her involvement in a school supply drive and bringing a financial literacy program to students during the District’s April recess, where scholars learned different aspects of basic banking and building credit.
“I enjoy working with students, various credit unions, and banks to bring financial literacy into the classroom and make it tangible, so kids can use, play, and understand it,” said Taylor.
“With K – 12 children, we have an opportunity to build those foundations and what better way than financial literacy,” said Kelli Monique Briggs, Executive Director of Strategic and Community Partnerships for the RCSD. “Lieselle truly cares about the kids; she took it and ran with it.”
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Taylor on this well-deserved honor.
