Superintendent Dr. Lesli Myers-Small Announces Leadership Appointment
(December 8, 2021) The Rochester City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of James Nuñez as the Acting Principal of the NorthSTAR Program. He officially begins his duties as Acting Principal on December 8, 2021.
Mr. Nuñez previously served as the Principal at Twelve Corners Middle School in the Brighton Central School District and was an Assistant Principal at Burger Junior High School in the Rush-Henrietta Central School District. Prior to these leadership roles, he was a teacher in the Fairport Central School District for 16 years. Throughout his 23 years in the education field, he has focused on the social emotional needs of students, working with stakeholders to problem solve and implement creative actions to support students, families, and staff. As the new leader of NorthSTAR, Mr. Nuñez understands well the unique needs of the school community and will focus on the establishment of a positive and supportive culture.
Mr. Nuñez earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with Certification in Elementary and Special Education from the State University of New York College at Geneseo and a Master’s Degree in Reading Education and Certification of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the State University of New York College at Brockport.
