RCSD Partners with Clergy and City of Rochester to Deliver Holiday Meals
(November 18, 2021) For the second consecutive year, the Rochester City School District is partnering with the City of Rochester and faith-based institutions to conduct its “Faith in Action: Adopt a School Project.” This initiative connects churches in the Rochester community to students, families, and schools in need. Local churches have adopted RCSD schools in their neighborhoods, and they are providing students, families, and schools with basic necessities.
Starting today, November 18, twenty faith-based partners in the Greater Rochester area will be delivering Thanksgiving meals to schools across the District, impacting more than 2,000 people Districtwide.
Last year, through this partnership, donors from churches and businesses in and around Rochester purchased more than 500 bags of food that were delivered to nearly 30 RCSD schools. Additionally, these faith-based institutions also provided Thanksgiving baskets of food and gift cards to over 600 RCSD students.
