RCSD Hosts Countywide Recognition Dinner
The Rochester City School District was proud to showcase one of its newly renovated high schools as part of a countywide recognition dinner on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
The Monroe County Council of School Superintendents (MCCOSS) hosted the 24th annual Dr. Michael C. O’Laughlin Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner at James Monroe High School. In years past, this event had been held at SUNY Brockport and St. John Fisher College, but Superintendents agreed to have this year’s dinner at the newly renovated school on Alexander Street, and Superintendent Daniel Lowengard was in attendance to welcome his colleagues to Monroe High School. This was also a fantastic opportunity to showcase the school and the excellent Food Service Department.
Students are selected for this recognition based on academics, leadership, and service. The following students from the RCSD were honored at the awards dinner:
- Nimo Maalim, East High School
- Malik Jaff, School Without Walls Commencement Academy
- Luis Rivera, All City High
- Marianne Leksen, James Monroe High School
