1,500 Students Participate in RCSD Annual Student Arts Exhibition

April 29, 2019 - On Monday, April 29, 2019, the Rochester City School District celebrated its annual student arts exhibition.  The District is home to more than 80 art educators who unveiled the talented work of their young artists.  This showcase represented student artists ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade.  They have created 2 and 3D artwork to include drawings, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, photography, and digital art.  New this year, the District also announced the winners of its first-ever RCSD calendar competition.  Nearly 200 student pieces were submitted to vie for one of 12 spots featured in the 2019 – 2020 calendar.  The District worked in conjunction with 540WMain Communiversity, parent councils, and District staff to select the 12 students and their pieces of art.  Please join us in congratulating the following individuals:

Eh Sa Paw, 6th grade student at Helen Barrett Montgomery School No. 50

All of the students who submitted artwork for the calendar competition will have their artwork on display at City recreation centers and libraries later this year.  540WMain Communiversity will also host an art show on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m where this artwork will be on display. This will be an opportunity to recognize students, families, and teachers for their hard work and for their support of the arts.
