The Rochester City School District congratulates Nydia Padilla-Rodriguez, Director of Strategic Community Partnerships, for receiving the Hall of Heritage Award from SUNY Brockport. The Brockport Alumni Association recognizes distinguished alumni and friends who have made notable contributions to the Alumni Association, the College, and/or the community.
Nydia Padilla-Rodriguez Receives Hall of Heritage Award
The Rochester City School District congratulates Nydia Padilla-Rodriguez, Director of Strategic Community Partnerships, for receiving the Hall of Heritage Award from SUNY Brockport. The Brockport Alumni Association recognizes distinguished alumni and friends who have made notable contributions to the Alumni Association, the College, and/or the community.
The Hall of Heritage Award is the Association’s most prestigious award, designed to honor alumni who have distinguished themselves by their exceptional contributions.
Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams said, “Nydia is a true champion and a valuable asset to our District, its students, and families. Her commitment to this community is spectacular and this award speaks to the caliber of her exceptional work ethic.”
Padilla-Rodriguez, a ’76 graduate of SUNY Brockport, has worked for the RCSD for 24 years. She has served in the Hispanic Studies Office, School No. 9, and James Madison High School as an administrator. Padilla-Rodriguez has been extensively involved in the community and is a founding member of the current United Way Latino Leadership program, Latinas Undias. She is also a founding member of the American Red Cross Youth Leadership Development Program, and the champion raising United Way funds for the District’s students and families. She is also active with Borinquen Dance Theatre, which has worked with youth for over 37 years.
Padilla-Rodriguez will be honored at a ceremony during SUNY Brockport's Homecoming Weekend, on Friday, September 14th, 2018.
