Bilingual Education Council Holds Last Meeting of School Year
Rochester – Tuesday, June 12, 2018 – The Bilingual Education Council held its last meeting of the school year. Executive Director Abel Perez gave a presentation on the future of the Bilingual Language and Literacy Academy, which offers students a transitional bilingual education for the 2018 – 2019 school year.
Bilingual Education Council President Myrna Gonzalez gave an overview of the goals of the organization for the 2018-2019 school year, and Commissioner Beatriz LeBron informed the parents about her plans for a Bilingual Parent Summit in August.
Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams was represented at this meeting by Carlos Garcia; Chief of Communications, Abel Perez; Executive Director of the Multilingual Department; and Bilingual Program Director Sherley Flores.
