Edison Career & Technology High School and Panther Graphics Recognized for Powerful Partnership
October 27, 2017—Edison Career and Technology High School and Panther Graphics were recognized in the Powerful Partnership category with a 2017 Rochester Business Journal Technology and Manufacturing Award. The inaugural Technology and Manufacturing Awards, a collaboration between the Rochester Business Journal and the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association, celebrated the best and brightest in Rochester’s diverse technology landscape. The awards were announced at a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Rochester today, with nine competitors taking home awards.
A graduate of Edison, Panther Graphics owner and president Tony Jackson partners with the school to provide opportunities to students through its Print Shop program, which has been one of Edison’s trademark offerings for decades. Panther offers a chance for high school students to get hands-on training in the world of printing. Students are also given the opportunity to take part in a co-op, giving them relevant training and skills in a professional workplace, which serves as a jumpstart for their careers after high school. To help ensure students graduate with the skills and experience necessary to enter the printing workforce, Mr. Jackson provides input on curriculum, classroom design, equipment audits, and software.
