Students at World of Inquiry Celebrate Better World Day

(June 13, 2025) World of Inquiry School No. 58 students highlighted a national event that is helping to contribute to a better world.

Students across the school participated in Better World Day on Friday, June 13, 2025.  Better World Day involves students working in partnership with each other and their community to engage in and celebrate meaningful work that positively impacts the world.

This year, eleventh-grade students chose to celebrate the cultural diversity of their school community through a special event dubbed World Heritage Day.

“Students looked at a variety of service projects, interviewed some people, and read some stories about teens around the world who are making their community a better place,” said Kara Miller, a teacher at World of Inquiry. “This is a way to nurture our roots and enrich our bonds with one another.”

The students showcased remarkable artwork, including prints from Ghana and a symbol representing the community and unity they created. They also displayed musical instruments from teachers who visited Africa, adding a meaningful cultural connection to the celebration.

Last year’s project saw students plant 1,967 tulip bulbs across the school campus, symbolizing the school’s founding year following the 1964 race riots.
