RCSD Hosts 36th Annual Black History Month Celebration

(February 6, 2025) The Rochester City School District congratulates 61 students who were recognized at the Board of Education’s 36th Annual Black History Month Celebration on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

“Even though we say it is Black History Month, we all know it is not just a one-month celebration; it is 365 days a year in which we need to honor the ancestors and those individuals who have come before us,” said Dr. Demario Strickland, Interim Superintendent of Schools.  “The students being honored are individuals within our District who continue to exemplify academic excellence, and what better way to show it than with their families.”
