Roberto Clemente School No. 8

The staff, students, and parents of Roberto Clemente School 8 promote unity by celebrating diversity in culture, knowledge and experience. Our school community and our community partners work together with a common focus of doing what is best for ALL students to meet academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs. As a team, we use data to identify areas in need of improvement and focus instruction on strengthening those areas. We believe that instilling HOPE in our students and striving for high standards will drive us to reach our fullest potential. The Roberto Clemente staff incorporates the Habits of Work and Learning (HOWLS) into everyday routines and instructional practices.

• Smartboards in all Pre-K-6 classrooms with Chromebook 1:1 correspondence for all students. The school follows the technology infusion plan for English Language Arts and Mathematics.
• Parent involvement, including an active Parent Teacher Organization, a full-time parent liaison, and parent participation in all School-Based Planning Team meetings. Other engagement activities include Coffee with the Principal, Curriculum Nights, Back-to-School Night, Scholastic Book Fair, and PreKindergarten Lending Library.
• Extracurricular activities include a 24 Math Club, City League Basketball, Orchestra, Band, Choir, Arts Club, Flower City Days, and a sixth-grade class trip.
