- Restorative Practice principles are utilized among staff and students.
- A safe and nurturing environment that provides the foundation for successful learning environments with all classrooms starting each day with classroom morning meetings.
- Monthly School-Wide Morning Meetings
- As a school-wide instructional priority, all students in grades K-2 engage in ongoing literacy development beyond the Readers and Writers Workshops, through the use of a Walk to Intervention model of instructional support.
- Student leadership opportunities are available through the Student Council and Safety Patrol. In addition, our students are not only offered a band and chorus, but there are instrumental music lessons including hand bells, recorders and mallets and through Music and Movement classes.
- Our partnership with the Center for Youth expands and enriches our students’ opportunities to engage in restorative practices, while also developing self-regulation and coping skills, leadership skills and life skills.
- A fully remodeled school building with state-of-the-art furniture and technology. All students have access to Chromebook carts for 1:1 blended learning opportunities.
- Active partnership with Cameron Communities where students have the opportunity to attend after-school programming daily.
- Blossoming partnerships with: HippoCampo Books, Excellus, International We Love You Foundation, Lyell-Otis Public Library, Health Plex, and more!
- Scholars have the opportunity to participate in a variety of ensembles that include- photography, social media club, arts integration, Stage Crew, and percussion.
- OHANA Parent Group: A dedicated family engagement group that builds strong school-community partnerships and fosters a supportive environment for students and families.
- New STEAM Room: A creative, hands-on space for students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, promoting innovative and critical thinking skills.
- Daily Teacher Feedback: Teachers receive consistent, constructive feedback daily, supporting their professional growth and enhancing instructional quality.
- School Basketball and Cheer Teams: Opportunities for students to participate in athletics, fostering teamwork, school spirit, and healthy competition.
