June 11, 2026) The Rochester City School District proudly recognized 16 exceptional student-athletes during a Board of Education ceremony on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 131 West Broad Street.

Each RCSD high school selected one outstanding male and one outstanding female student-athlete who exemplifies excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and character. Honorees were chosen based on a minimum GPA of 3.0, 93% or higher attendance, and demonstrated leadership and citizenship within their schools or the broader Rochester community.

“I recognize the hard work and commitment required to be a student-athlete,” said Dr. Eric Jay Rosser, Superintendent of Schools and a former scholarship basketball player at the University of Buffalo.  “During that time, I valued the journey and the opportunity to serve as a scholar-athlete. I encourage our student-athletes to keep refining your skills so you can maximize your potential as athletes but also remain committed to personal growth.”
