RCSD Communications Team Receives National Recognition for 3rd Consecutive Year

The RCSD Communications team was recently given 3 awards at a national conference.

The Rochester City School District congratulates its Communications team on receiving national honors for the third year in a row from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).

At its annual conference, this year in New Orleans, Louisiana, NSPRA honored the District with three awards:

  • Golden Achievement Award: In recognition of the District’s “Strive for Five: Show Up Strong, Five Days Long” Attendance Campaign. The RCSD developed the campaign in response to a documented attendance challenge affecting student success across the District. Designed as a yearlong, multi-channel campaign with clear audiences, shared staff responsibility, and repeated visibility, Strive for Five kicked off with a press conference on August 20, 2025, at Montessori Academy School No. 53.

The District was also the recipient of two Publications and Digital Media Awards:

  • Award of Excellence (Video): For “Here with Purpose: A New Chapter Begins,” the District’s 2025 Superintendent’s Conference Day video, which featured then-new Superintendent Dr. Eric Jay Rosser. Shown to all RCSD employees across schools and District offices, the video was designed to unify, inspire, and set the tone for a new chapter grounded in transparency, collaboration, and student-centered leadership.
  • Award of Merit (Calendar): In recognition of the 2025 – 2026 District Calendar, which specifically showcased the District’s new branding. Designed in-house, the annual calendar serves as an essential informational tool for students, families, and staff. Every family receives a printed bilingual (English/Spanish) version, with an interactive digital version optimized for web and mobile access.

Congratulations to the Communications team on these well-deserved honors and their continued commitment to sharing the stories of students, families, and staff.
