(September 14, 2026) On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Rochester City School District families gathered at Dr. Iris J. Banister School No. 33 for the 4th Annual Special Education Resource Fair. Hosted by the RCSD Department of Special Education and the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC), the event brought together District staff, community partners, and caregivers for a day of connection, learning, and celebration.

Designed for parents and caregivers navigating special education services, as well as those exploring extra support for the first time, the fair served as a comprehensive resource hub. Representatives from across the District and local community organizations provided guidance spanning PreK through post-secondary education. The event aimed to create an inclusive space that celebrates diversity, honors the unique abilities of every student, and helps families navigate available programs with confidence.

In addition to valuable educational insights, families enjoyed a fun-filled morning together. Attendees kicked off the day with a light breakfast before visiting with friendly therapy dogs and animals from the ZooMobile. A live magician entertained guests of all ages, and a visit from the ice cream truck brought extra smiles to the event.

The 4th Annual Special Education Resource Fair highlighted RCSD’s ongoing commitment to building strong family partnerships and ensuring every student receives the resources and support needed to thrive.
