About MPAC

Multilingual Parent Advisory Council

Multilingual Advisory Council (MPAC) is a vehicle for ELL parents to collaborate for the purpose of problem-solving, program enhancement, communicating with parents, and recognition of student achievement. The purpose of MPAC is to support parental involvement and participation in the English Language Learners’ programming and academic achievement. The council is constituted of multiple collaborators,  including ELL parents, community members, and district staff. The parents from the learning community will elect officers to conduct their monthly, meeting on behalf of MPAC. The district’s role includes providing resources to support MPAC, such as: receiving training through the Parent Advisory Leadership Training, orientation to available programs, and parent engagement opportunities.

How does the Multilingual Parent Advisory Committee (MPAC) Work?

The Multilingual Parent Advisory Committee (MPAC) advises the Superintendent and District leadership on matters related to multilingual and bilingual education, including curriculum, instructional materials, language acquisition programs, and culturally responsive practices.

The Committee is composed of parents/guardians of multilingual learners, community organization representatives, students, teachers, and district administrators who share a commitment to supporting and advancing multilingual and bilingual education across the School District.
