    P.E. Expectations:


    1. Be on time, be prepared, be engaged in active participation.

      (Early is on time and on time is late!)

    2. Cell phones and all electronics, book bags, and jackets are prohibited during all Physical Education classes.

    3. The dress code will be strictly enforced. This includes, but is not limited to hats, hoodies, and bandannas, as well as what is stated on the SOTA Student, Parent Faculty Handbook and posters located throughout the building.

    4. Disrespect/Disruption to the educational process is prohibited.

      This includes but is not limited to: bullying, profanity, food consumption and personal grooming.

    5. Positives for following expectations:

    • Choice Day             

    • Good News cards sent

    • Class leader for stretching

    SOTA Superstars


     Required Supplies:


          1. T-shirt and shorts (proper fitting) or sweatpants. These must be different from those worn to school. Jeans worn under sweatpants is not considered being prepared for class. No jeggings, leggings, or joggers!


          2. Sneakers (laced and tied); no sneaker boots or those without backs are not considered sneakers and cannot be worn in class.


          3. Students will be issued a lock and a locker at the beginning of the year. If this lock is missing at the end of the year, the student will be assessed a $5.00 fee to replace the lock.



          Students will be instructed in a variety of activities throughout the school year. Activities will be divided into team sports and individual categories (i.e. Volleyball vs. Orienteering). Students may also have the option to spend 2-weeks in weight training and the walking program alternating every other class. The primary focus will be on the individual improvement of fitness scores.

    Grading System:


    5- Student on time to class or late with a legal excuse or pass

        Student properly prepared

        Student fully participates entire class to the best of their ability

        Student properly follows all class rules


    4- Student on time to class or late with a legal excuse or pass

        Student properly prepared

        Student participates 80% of class to the best of their ability

        Student follows all class rules


    3- Student is late without pass or unexcused tardy

        Student fully participates the rest of class to the best they can

        Student follows all class rules


    2- Student is unprepared but has sneakers

        Student fully participates to the best of their ability

        Student follows all class rules


    1- Student is unprepared and unable to safely participate

        Student is prepared but refuses to participate

        Student fails to follow class rules


    0- Student has unexcused absence.

        Student is sent out for disciplinary issue.

    • Students will be given every opportunity to make up days missed for a lesson, field trip or legal absence that is more than 3 days.
    • Make up requirements for unprepared classes or unexcused absences will be determined by teacher. 
    • Student fitness test results may be used towards student’s final exam.
