The Code of Conduct Community Forum

  • Rochester's schools strive to provide a safe and productive learning environment that will help students become successful, responsible citizens. Our goal is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate fully in their education without disruption.

The District's Code of Conduct is written to promote a positive learning environment for all students. It spells out expectations for the responsible behavior of all partners in the school community: students, teachers, administrators and other staff, parents/guardians, and visitors to schools.

The Rochester Board of Education most recently adopted a Code of Conduct on June 16, 2016 and revised this policy for consideration based on New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) updates and School Climate Advisory Committee (SCAC) recommendations during the 2020-21 school year.

The Rochester Board of Education is hosting a virtual community forum to discuss proposed changes to the District’s Code of Conduct Policy (No. 1400) on Thursday, May 6, 2021 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Interested person may sign up to speak by noon the day of the forum to participate.
