School-Based Telemedicine Services

Quality Healthcare Right at School

Through a collaboration with UR Golisano Children's Hospital and Rochester Regional Health, students can now receive quality medical care directly from their school health office without parents needing to leave work or rush to urgent care. Using TytoCare remote exam tools, school nurses and technicians can perform comprehensive physical checks and treat common acute issues on-site.

Key Benefits & Services:

  • Convenient Care: Eliminates last-minute school pickups, missed work, and urgent care wait times.
  • Comprehensive Exams: Providers can inspect ears and throats, check lungs and hearts, flush earwax, and test for strep, flu, or COVID-19.
  • Treatable Conditions: Covers ear infections, pink eye, rashes, sore throats, and nasal congestion.
  • Medication Management: Offers follow-ups for asthma, ADHD, and chronic conditions for existing Rochester Regional Health or Strong Pediatrics patients.
  • Same Standard Cost: Services are billed at the same cost as a standard in-person doctor's visit, regardless of where your child's primary medical home is.

How It Works:

  • Consent: Parents provide verbal consent for the visit, and consent forms are sent home to review.
  • School Visit: The school nurse or technician conducts the exam, and a healthcare provider calls the parent directly to discuss the visit.
  • Diagnosis & Next Steps: The provider reviews exam data to offer a diagnosis, send prescriptions if needed, or clear the student to return to class.
