Receivership Public Hearings and Feedback: Join us in shaping our children

Public Hearings for Receivership Schools

Under New York State law, Receivership schools must make significant gains in student achievement. An annual public hearing is scheduled for each school to share progress with the school community and gather stakeholder input. These hearings usually take place during the months of August and September each year.

Receivership Schools in the Rochester City School District

Under a State law that took effect in June 2015, schools that the state has determined are "Struggling" or "Persistently Struggling" must make significant gains in student achievement. If we fail to meet State targets in one or two years, an outsider receiver will be appointed to take over these schools.
