Vision                                                                                                                                                                                                                Ensure every learner is supported by a literacy rich ecosystem across home, school, and community that empowers them to be dreamers, innovators, changemakers, advocates, leaders, and lifelong learners who think critically, communicate effectively, and engage meaningfully with the world.

RCSD Culture of Literacy Commitments

  1. Provide high-quality literacy instruction in every classroom, every day, PreK-12. 
  2. Implement data responsive systems to track, respond to, and celebrate literacy progress district-wide. 
  3. Launch RCSD Reads LEVEL UP Literacy initiative followed by three district-wide literacy festivals fall, winter and spring to motivate, elevate and celebrate literacy district-wide. Collaborate with schools to expand and enrich literacy opportunities for students.

4. Empower families and mobilize community partners as champions of literacy.
