Parent University

Parent Engagement Network P.E.N. seeks to educate and empower parents as partners, advocates and lifelong teachers in their child's education through educational courses and leadership opportunities through a series of free informative workshops both within the district and with partner organizations in the Greater Rochester community. In addition, P.E.N.provides professional development to staff in the area of developing partnerships with parents.  

 

Locations
Courses are offered at various school and community locations and virtual.

No Cost
All courses are FREE and open to RCSD parents, guardians, and caregivers.

Interpretation Services, Transportation and Childcare
Interpretation services, RTS bus passes, and childcare for ages 5-12 are available upon request for P.E.N. events with 5 days notice. Please call (585) 324-9999 for reservations and availability.

Cancelations
When RCSD schools are closed due to inclement weather or emergency situations, courses will be canceled. School closing announcements are made via parent robocall/email, website notices, and local radio and television stations.
