The Office of Adult and Career Education Services (OACES)  is the Rochester City School District's Adult Learning Center. Located within the city of Rochester, OACES offers free career training, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) support, high school equivalency (HSE/GED) classes, and job placement assistance for adults who reside in Monroe County. 

Programs and Services

  • Career and Technical Education (CTE): Offers hands-on training in fields like automotive technology, culinary arts, carpentry, and electrical education.
  • Academic Support: Offers High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation, formerly GED, and Adult Basic Education (ABE).
  • English Language: English language acquisition and ESOL classes are available for non-native speakers.
  • Workforce Development: Resume writing, job interview preparation, and industry-specific training.

Student Resources and Information

  • Eligibility: Generally for adults 16+ (17 for RCSD) who are not currently enrolled in school.
  • Location & Accessibility: OACES is located at 30 Hart Street with easy access to RTS buslines.
  • Support Services: Offers on-site child care (OACES Explorers Pre-K)
