Community Budget Seminar
Participatory Budgeting & Feedback
The Rochester Board of Education and the Department of Finance are seeking community input on the format and design of the 2023-24 Budget Book via the participatory community budgeting simulation tool, Balancing Act.
Using Balancing Act, the RCSD community can view budget book samples from neighboring urban districts in New York and rank their top 3 design choices. Budget Builders meet with the Preview Finance Committee (preliminary budget presentation)

2023-24 Budget Calendar and budget development procedures presented for BOE review in the Finance Committee. Presentation on the 2023-24 preliminary budget forecast, budget assumptions, and alignment to Board Goals and the State Monitor Fiscal Plan and discussion of Board priorities were conducted in the Finance Committee.

A special Meeting was convened as a Finance Committee of the Whole Meeting for the presentation of the District & East EPO Superintendents to present the 2023-24 Budget to the BOE (PowerPoint overview). Preliminary budget and CIP documents were presented following the meeting.
