Green Schools: Requirements for Schools to Participate

Requirements for schools to participate in the Green Schools Program include:

  • Organize students across grade levels into a Green club dedicated to learning about, practicing and encouraging energy conservation
  • Plan, organize and implement on-going projects that will conserve electrical energy during the school day, after school, during weekends and school recesses
  • Record and report the data gathered from energy conservation measures
  • Where appropriate, use the instructional materials, activities and tools provide by the RCSD and the ASE
  • Attempt to get the entire school population involved in energy conservation through small changes in human behavior
  • Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the ASE
  • Agree to participate in the End of the Year Celebration
