Looping Into Policy

The Board of Education recognizes that the adoption of written policies constitutes the basic method by which the Board exercises its governance duties.  To that end, the Board regularly develops and reviews the policies set for the Rochester City School District.

Since policies often affect students, parents, employees, and/or the community of the District, the Board makes a continuing effort to try to involve as many relevant groups as reasonably possible during policy development.

Unless legally required or the Board directs otherwise, stakeholders should follow the approved Policy Review Calendar.

When policies are under review, stakeholders can provide feedback through the following methods:
 
  • Students & Parents: 
    • The Google Form link that is listed in the next section below, "Pre-recorded Policy Review Videos". Feedback received will be shared with the advisory groups to be incorporated during their review, and then shared with the District administration during their review.
