• Welcome to Kindergarten!

    Dear Families,

Hello and welcome to school!  I am very excited to be the Kindergarten teacher for such a wonderful class this year.  My name is Mrs. Lampman.  I am a huge advocate for parental involvement and I hope to have all of your support.  If you ever need to reach me, you can do so by one of the following options: send a note with your child (which I will respond to immediately), call me at school (482-9290) and asked to be transferred to my room (A110), stop in before or after school, or email me at Kelly.Lampman@rcsdk12.org.  The best time to reach me by telephone at school is in the morning between 8-9 am or after school between 3-4 pm.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any problems or issues.  We are on the same team working towards one goal: The best education for your child.

The students’ will learn new and exciting things this school year.  We will learn letters and their sounds, listen to stories, write our names, learn our numbers and so much more.  We will learn through Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, Math, Open Court, and finally Social Studies and Science.

Here are a few procedures I would like to maintain in my classroom.  Some nights, homework will be assigned.  It MUST be returned on the day that it is due.  Reading to your child every night for 20 minutes will truly help with your child’s academic success.  A book log will be sent home weekly to help you keep track of the time spent together reading.  This will help your child to reach their goal of 25 books read throughout the school yearEach student will have a homework folder where the assignments can be found.  Please look in this folder often for homework assignments and school wide information.  Please return homework folder to school.

Finally, throughout the school year we will need a few items to help with our success. These items consist of: crayons, Kleenex, glue sticks, pencils, erasers, hand sanitizer, and healthy snacks.  A donation of any of these items would be greatly appreciated. Keeping the classroom and the students healthy and clean is very important to us all.

Here's to a great school year,

    Mrs. Lampman

Getting to Know Each Other Activity:
Starting off the school year can be a difficult thing, especially when you don’t know anyone.  I would like to get to know all of you and would like you to be able to get to know everyone in the class.  Please put THREE artifacts that represent you and your life in a bag.  For example, it can be a picture of your family, or a favorite toy you like to play with.  This way, we can learn all about YOU!

Please bring your bag filled with the THREE items that describe you to school so we can share as a class.  Thank you!
