School Based PlanningEach District school has a planning team to review student performance, set goals for improvement, and design a program by which the school may advance towards its goals. In addition, the teams which are decision-making bodies are increasingly being given more responsibility and authority to select school staff and determine how the school budget should be spent. The planning team includes teachers, building administrators, parents, building administrators, parents, and other representatives such as community members chosen by consensus of the team. Parent representatives to the planning teams are elected through a process established by the parent organization at each school.
