Hello! Welcome to the ELL website of Ms. Cheryl Gillen

This is my second year at HBM-School #50, although I am not new to the district. I have taught for 10 years in various schools in the district as a contract sub. This is an exceptional opportunity for me to teach English to the Kindergartners. I love teaching and live in the classroom!!

My credentials are from Nazareth College of Rochester, Having earned my B.A. and M.S. there. My major field of study was French and Education N-12. During my career, I have taught French, Latin, ESOL and Spanish. I, also, have extensive study in Europe.

ELL Objective:

The primary goal of ELL is to teach English to the students. This is achieved by naming objects in English, showing how they are pronounced and spelled, which enables the student to be able to read the written language and understand the spoken word.
