Online Registration Process
For Students Entering Grades 7 and 9 for the 2020-21 School Year
All student registrations for grades 7 and 9 can now be completed online – it’s convenient, fast, and ensures your information is accurate.
You will need a student ID number to register. If you do not have a student ID number, you can obtain one by visiting the Office of Student Equity and Placement at 131 West Broad Street, Rochester, NY 14614. Visit www.rcsdk12.org/enroll for a complete list of acceptable documentation.
Once you have a student ID number, complete the steps below to register your child for school:
First, Sign Up
To register a child for grade 7 or 9, visit rcsdk12.org/register and create an account.
You must create an account to log in and register your child in the new system. You will need to provide an email address. You can also sign up through Facebook, Google, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Step 1: Click Start New Application and select Begin Choice Application.
You will be required to enter your child’s student ID number.
Step 2: Enter the student’s information.
Step 3: Complete the information about which schools your would like to select.
You must choose 5 school options.
Step 4: Review application. Click Send my Application and Sign Out.
You will receive a confirmation email once your registration is complete. If you choose Save and Exit on the application, it will not be submitted to the lottery. You must click Send My Application to complete a lottery submission.
