Similar to implementation for academic concerns, the school can organize its behavioral interventions into 3 levels.
- Tier I (75-85%)- Universal intervention: Available to all students
Example: School wide programs, such as PBIS or informal modifications in the classrooms.
- Tier II (10-25%)- Individualized Intervention: Students who need additional support than peers are given individual intervention plans.
Example: Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP).
- Tier III (5-10%)- Intensive Intervention: Students whose intervention needs are greater than general education can meet may be referred for more intensive services.
Example: Special Education in more restrictive classrooms (12:1:1; 8:1:2; Day treatment, etc.)
