•      I have been a teacher of ESOL for twenty-one years. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo. I received my Masters Degree in Education from Nazareth College of Rochester, with a New York State certification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.)
I have taught students at all grade levels, from kindergarten through the university level. My students have been at all ranges of English-language abilities, from non-speaker through advanced. I have also taught English Language Arts at the middle school level. My goals for all of my students have been to improve their English-language abilities in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing. This year at Northeast College Preparatory Academy I am focusing a lot on developing my students' academic vocabularies and on ensuring that they are all successful in their English Language Arts classes as well as in our ESOL classes.
Throughout my teaching career I have worked with students from many parts of the world - from countries as diverse as Sudan, Ukraine, Cuba and Nepal. My students have enriched my life by teaching me much about the places they are from. I look forward to my students and I continuing to learn from each other in the years to come.
