    Summer Reading for Grades K-12
    The 2017 Summer Reading Initiative for grades K-12 provides Rochester City School students with a list of engaging book titles to read over the summer months. Each student is encouraged to visit their local library, using their grade appropriate list as a guide, and read all summer long.

    How do I participate?
    • Visit your local library branch for easy access to books, videos, computers, wi-fi, and more!
    • Using your grade level list as a guide and choose a book that you'd like to read.
    • Enjoy your book!
    All Students (K-12):
    • Complete a book review, then bring it to your school's library for a chance to have your review added to Destiny, the RCSD Online School Library System.


    More Reading Opportunities
    This summer, please visit a branch of the Monroe County or Rochester Public Libraries and sign up for a library card. It's free and easy. Check with your local branch to see what events and programs are scheduled throughout July and August. Visit www.libraryweb.org for a schedule. City recreation centers may also host reading programs which make good fun while you're on summer recess.
